Round Robin
Round Robins ... building community in the neighborhood.
In what has turned out to be a very successful and pleasant way to foster a sense of community, Spruce Park neighbors have been gathering for conversation and food at “Round Robin” tapas parties. In groups of 8 to 10, at rotating host houses, we spend a couple of hours getting to know each other over savories, desserts and drinks. Here is how Round Robins work:- A couple of weeks prior to a Round Robin event, email invitations are sent to all who have signed up to be on the mailing list.
- On receipt of an invitation, you RSVP to the convener to be a host or a guest with name(s) and number attending.
- Kids are welcome and if there is interest, we can direct them all to one house so they can play while we chat!
- The Convener assembles respondents into small groups, aiming for representation across the blocks, etc.
- About 3 days before the event, emails are sent out to guests with the address of your party and a food assignment.
- When Nancy sends out the announcement for the next Round Robin respond to her email to sign up to be a host or a guest.
